Let's Get Rapturous!

Things I want to do before the rapture:

Eat at French Laundry
Get super drunk
Down a pint of ice cream, guilt free
Watch all the movies in my netflix queue
Find a husband

I might/might not be floating to heaven on Saturday, so I don't think I have enough time to get all this stuff done. But I'll try my best.

I think I need to take tomorrow off work.

Hello Brain! It's me, Hannah!

I think I'm going to try to start blogging again. I'm afraid that pretty soon I'm only going to be able to express my thoughts in 160 characters, or status messages. And then my dreams of writing a novel will die a short, pithy death. (just kidding, i've never dreamed of writing a novel.)

That being said, I gotta keep this short cause it's time to get clean and get ready for bed. Let's just hope my sleep tonight is not interrupted by the couple on the other side of the wall from me having sex, like it was last night. Yup. I went to bed with the faint sounds of people sexing, and woke up two hours later to the loud sounds of people sexing. Two hours later! At 2 in the morning! Don't these people have work the next day?! The dude is pretty silent, but man oh man, the girl is looooooud. TMI? Tell me about it!!! I need to move to an apartment with thicker walls.

Happy 2011 to the three people who read this!!!!

Haven't posted in about seven months, but if anything warrants a post, it's this:

THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!!!

I've been waiting for this since 2002. GO GIANTS!!

TwitFace Overload
Between Twitter and Facebook, my ability and inclination to write blog posts has declined. I now think of life in 140 characters or less. But I'd like to keep this blog up. It's nice having a record of your life, and a place to put down thoughts at times when 140 characters just won't cut it.

Oh yeah. I'm a lawyer.
This week, I really felt like a lawyer, after drafting three short documents that were filed in court today. I still don't think this litigation thing is really for me, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to give it a shot.

Olympic Fever
The last two weeks, I had olympic fever. Well, olympic fever, and then an olympic cold. The first week, I was completely obssessed. I'd spent extra time on the elliptical to watch short track speed skating, go to the local sports bar to watch hockey games, and spend all my other time on nbcolympics.com. By week two, the fever had died down, and by the time women's figure skating came around it was minimally interesting. Of course, I rooted for KimYunNa, cause I'm Korean and it's required. But honestly, I think she's a little Stepford- not much personality, and I think her artistry isn't all that great. I also do not understand the points system, cause I didn't think she was thaaaaaat much better than the Japanese girls. Also, I was totally rooting for the Canadian (i'm a sucker for a sad story), but thought the Japanese-American girl actually did better than her. Also, I miss MichelleKwan. Now she was a great figure skater. Figure skating just isn't interesting to me the way it used to me. I thought short track speedskating, downhill skiing and snowboard cross were actually the most interesting.

I have this recurring fantasy that I somehow discover I'm naturally AWESOME at some winter sport, and practice and practice, and somehow become a late in life Olympian. That would be amazing. Let's make it happen.

Trip Planning
I have five days off at the end of March/early April. I want to go somewhere, but I'm too poor and lazy to buy tickets. This is a problem. I'm thinking either DC or NY. Again- let's make it happen.

Food
I haven't gone grocery shopping in a couple weeks. I have so litle food in my aparment, yet I'm surviving. How, you ask? Mom always sends me back with frozen Korean food that I just need to defrost and heat up. It's awesome. I will never starve, because I have a Korean mom.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

And I could give a crap. Seriously, I don't even really care about the commercials. I guess I'm rooting for the Saints, only because of ScottFujita. I kind of have a little crush on him, because he's Asian-American, and he's not afraid to speak his mind.

RENT!
The other reason I'm not that excited about the Super Bowl is because I'm watching Rent tonight!!! Yayayay! At one point in my life, I was obsessed with Rent. It still remains the soundtrack to my college years. I listened to it so much and it became so ingrained in my head that I could listen to it while I studied and reach the end of the soundtrack without really hearing it. I watched it twice in San Francisco in the summer of 1999, twice in Chicago in September 1999, once in New York in December 2002, and now I'm watching the very last show of the touring company. And for an added bonus, two of the original leads will be performing. Original Mark and Original Roger!!!!

I've watched a lot of great shows since I last saw Rent, but this show has a place in my heart. It resonated so deeply with me, and even now I still think the music is wonderful. No Day But Today!!!!!

I love JaneAusten
I rewatched P&P a few weeks ago, and then watched the new BBC version of Emma. Love them both. So I decided to re-read, and read for the first time, some of Austen's novels. Right now I'm reading MansfieldPark; next up is Sense&Sensibility. I think Austen is a witty, engaging writer, with really well plotted books. After I read the books, I'm going to watch some of the better adaptations. It's my very own JaneAustenBook/Movie Club.

Furniture!
I got furniture! Thanks to a very nice girl at my church, I have two couches and a coffee table. I am no longer a furniture-less loser. I also bought some pillows, and some frames to cheer the place up. Alls I need now is a TV, and I'll be set. Yes! It's nice to have somewhere to sit and read and lounge.

SarahPalin
She is a moron. She doesn't understand the law, or the Constitution. If she runs for President, I will do everything in my power to not see her elected. If she wins President, I'm moving to Korea.

Exploring Sac
Joanna was in town for two nights, and Suhan is currently staying with me for two nights. I've gotten to explore Sac, and eat at a bunch of places. All in all: Mulvaney's is great, Mix is craaaaazy, FoxandGoose is DELICIOUS and YogurtaGoGo is a won't ever again go go.

After a big weekend, I'm prepping for a big week. My first arbitration is tomorrow and Tuesday. At a prison!!! Wish me luck.

Rain Rain Go Away!

It's been raining a lot lately. Thank goodness I bought rain boots at Target. Yesterday I walked to work in my rain boots. I was halfway down the block when I realized that in my rush to leave the apartment that I realized they were on the wrong feet. In my defense, they are very big and clunky and shapeless. But let's be honest- I'm sometimes a moron who doesn't pay attention. It's okay though, I got to work in one piece.

Victory!
I had my first (mini) victory at work last week. Thanks to the almost brilliantness of my position statement, the charge against my client was dismissed. What's up!!!

MLK
Yesterday was MLK, Jr. Day. Sadly, I did not do much to celebrate. But I will try to live every day of my life in the spirit of what I believe MLK stood for- equality, justice, peace.

Eyes
Eyes are the window to the soul. And for the past two weeks, the windows to my soul have been blurry, inflamed and just not happy. I have iritis, an eye inflammation condition. The doctor doesn't know what caused it; all he knows is that I have a genetic predisposition to it (seriously, I got a test done) and that it wasn't caused by TB or syphyllis (seriously, more tests done). I've had to take three different types of eyedrops at various intervals during the day. I got some good news today though- it's gotten a lot better! Unfortunately, I still have to do the eye drops. Boo. Another appointment next week, and another the week after, and hopefully I'll be all better by then.

My CNN Boyfriend
And now for a few words about my CNN boyfriend, Dr.SanjayGupta. Dr.Sanjay is currently in Haiti, where he is reporting, saving babies, and saving brains. I really heart Dr.Sanjay. He is a neurosurgeon/rockstar/hunky hunky man.

SookieStackhouse
I'm almost done with the SookieStackhouse series. They're trashy and dumb, but man oh man, they are a fun read.

TheRoad
I'm reading TheRoad right now. I read some CormacMcCarthy, and then I read Sookie, cause although his writing and the pictures he paints with words are beautiful, it is so incredibly depressing. But man, what a amazing portrait of a father and son.

SpiceGirls
Today I was at TraderJoe's and a team member was talking to another team member and telling him about this crazy girl she met who knew everything about the Spicegirls, including their stage names, their real names, and who they're dating/married to. It hit a little close to home.
