Oh Canada.

I've decided that I want to visit Canada. Maybe Vancouver (where all my favorite sci-fi shows film). Or Toronto (where my cousin is studying). Or Quebec (where they speak french).

Hehe hheh. I just asked my sister what Canadian currency is called. Apparently they too call their currency dollars. Who knew?

Did you know it costs $1500 PER AIRBAG to replace?

ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME????

So I may not have taken my school permit out of the car after the accident (silly Hannah, why would you think yiou could get a temporary permit for free?) , but I did think to take off my county parking permit for my court internship. I stuck it on the inside back of my fire engine red car, and went on my merry way. Came back to the car after work to discover I got a FREAKIN PARKING TICKET. The stupid parking permit fell off. And so the week of frustration and irritation continues.

And it's only Wednesday.

I'm going to shank someone.

Today I went to the campus safety office for a temporary parking pass. I didn't take my parking permit off my car after The Accident because I assumed getting a temporary one would be easy, and I didn't want to take it off the broke ass windshield. Turns out I have to either pay $5 a day to park on campus with a temporary permit, or pay $30 bucks for a whole new one. This is in addition to the $225 I paid for the actual permit. The thing that pissed me off the most? The helpful suggestions of the campus security guys who told me that I should have taken off the permit before they towed the car, and that I should just go to the tow yard and find my car and take the permit off.

I hate them. I really really hate them. You are not getting any more of my money, bitches.

The good news: we're both fine.
The bad news: the car, not so much.

Got into a minor car accident on Sunday. Nothing major, but enough to be a pain in my booty. I'm grateful neither of us were hurt, but grrrrrr, I'm irritated about the whole dang thing. I was just driving straight down Homestead to church, minding my own business, when dumb girl decided to make the left out of the parking lot though her view of oncoming traffic was obscured. She darted out, I braked hard, and bang! I hit her. As soon as I saw her, I knew I wouldn't be able to stop in time. The airbags popped out (they were much less poofy than I thought they would be, and released this white powder), and Sarah and I just looked at each other in disbelief.
The craziest part? My family was serving fellowship at church, so I had all the food in my trunk. Potatoes, carrots, chicken etc (for curry rice). My cousin was two minutes behind us, so the first thing we did was transfer all the food-- mind you, my car was still in the middle of the road, so we were dodging cars as we carried grocery bags to his car. We sent him on his way, cause what's a minor car accident when there are Koreans who need to be fed? Heh heh. A lot of people were staring as they drove by, and one of the cars ended up stopping when they realized, holy crap, we know them. I guess the Hongs take the same route to church we do, and stopped to make sure we were okay. Mr. Hong gave me a hug. All in all, it was a pretty nutty experience.

So what's the damage? Bumper got all out of wack, hood was kind of crumpled in, airbags deployed, and the windshield on the passenger side got really messed up from the impact of the airbag. I just hope it's all fixable, cause I love my trusty Accord. Insurance will cover everything, I just hope our rates don't go up (they better not, cause the police report clearly states I had the right of way.) We both feel fine, although I'm a little sore. And still a little cranky.

My first real car accident. It could've been worse. So thanks Jesus :) In the meantime, I'm rolling in a red Toyota Matrix.

New year, new haircut. It's shoulder length and layered. Not quite sure if I like it. But I don't hate it either.

I also bought new clothes, cleaned out my closet and reorganized my drawers.

Externship starts tomorrow, class starts on Tuesday. I'm in denial. I want vacation to last forever!!

Secret is back from Korea. And he did not come home empty handed. The Yu household now has a karaoke machine!

It's pretty awesome. We tested it out this morning, each of us taking turns. I entertained everyone with my renditions of "Build Me Up Buttercup" and "Time after Time."

I have a feeling I'm going to come home quite often to find dad singing. Can't wait.

Back home! Made the drive from LA to here in under 5 hours. It was boring, so I drove fast. Heh heh.

I had a great couple of days in LA. Lots of food, friends, beer and food. I reaaaallly don't want to start back up again on Monday. booo.

Some pics from the last couple days:

You know what's funny? The Office. I like that show a lot.

You know what else is funny? High School Musical. But in a totally different way.

I'm tired. It's been a fun, interesting day.

Cheers to a wonderful 2007. I have a feeling it might be filled with disappointment, but also a lot of fun and joy. New year, new beginnings. Can't wait to see what's in store.

Happy New Year's!! I hope everyone had a fun, safe, elite evening. I spent my New Year's Eve hanging out with the big brother and sister in law at their apartment in LA. They had some friends from church and some college friends over... it was nice seeing old friends and ringing in the new year with chocolate fondue and low-key fun. Pictures to come later.

I've been in LA since Friday, hanging out and eating a lot. Drove down early Friday, had lunch with my fam and Jo's fam, saw Eric and then had drinks in Santa Monica with Phil's friends. Saturday was Eric's first birthday party, and it was awesome. He is the cutest, cutest kid ever, and we had a great time celebrating.

Being in LA is fun. I wouldn't mind living here, but I think I might kill someone in a murderous rage while driving on the highway.
