Happy Birthday to Yu
Today is my momma's birthday. Happy birthday momma! My mom is great, and awesome, and wonderful, and giving, and funny, and cool. And every year, her birthday falls on Halloween. Yay mom!

Today i feel....
Restless. Listless. Antsy. Itchy. Like I want to get away from a this. Like I don't want to do any work. Like I want to sit and be a bum all day. It's working out pretty well for me.

Finals start in a little over a month! Time to get my butt in gear. Bleccch.

One thing that has been occupying my time lately is BattlestarGalactica, my new obsession. I found a site that has them all uploaded, so I've been watching them one by one. I've heard good things about this show, and have been told I'd probably like it, but I never got around to watching it. Well, when I was looking for a way to waste time, I found this site and I got hooked. It's GOOD. Actually, I think it's pretty good when it starts, but it gets better as you watch more and more. I've found myself getting totally into it. I'm limiting myself to one a day, and I'm about midway through season 1. I'm such a nerd, but you know what? SciFi is cool. Outer space is cool. Inter-species love is cool. I dig it.

"One of my favorite moments in this regard came today on All Things Considered when Michele Norris interviewed Paul Weyrich of the ArlingtonGroup, a conservative organization that's asking for Speaker of the House Hastert to resign. Here's what Weyrich had to say:

PW: "It has been known for many years that Foley was a homosexual. Homosexuals tend to be preoccupied with sex. The idea that he should be continued as chairman of the Committee on Missing and Exploited Children, given their knowledge on that is just outrageous."

MN: "I think there are quite a few people who would take exception to your statement that homosexuals are preoccupied with sex."

PW: "Well, I don't care if they take exception to it, it happens to be true."

MN: "That is your opinion."

PW: "It's not my opinion, it's the opinion of many psychiatrists and psychologists who have to deal with them."

Ah...ok, so homosexuals are preoccupied with sex but heterosexuals are not? Has Weyrich not, you know, turned on a television, opened a magazine, turned on the radio, seen a movie, surfed the internet lately? Has he not walked out into the street?"

The ArlingtonGroup is "coaliation of 70 socially conservative organizations." One headline calls it a Conservative Group, but another calls it a Christian group. Apparantely, they are one in the same. And that just sucks.

School is hard.

Too much to do, too little time.

Parents are out of town for three weeks. House is kind of scary when you're the last one awake, as I always am. Somehow knowing there are people downstairs makes me feel more safe-- like another layer of defense. Times like this, I wish we had a one story.

I'm sitting in class right now, talking about Congressional preemption. Wooo.

Speaking of Congress, I think they should all be kicked out. I think there should be term limits- two or three terms at most. Somehow as soon as someone becomes a Congressman power goes to the head and they lose all sense and propriety and morality. Maybe they were alread predisposed to be an assclown? I am disgusted with the Dems for being so weak and being so knee jerk reactionary. I am disgusted with the Republicans for being morally bancrupt hypocrites. Yeah, spout off all your talk about moral values and turn the other way when your members are taking bribes and hitting on 16 year old boys. Bleccccch.

Five day break this weekend, and I need it. Going to sleep A LOT, study A LOT and watch some movies or something.

New TV obsessions: CSINewYork. Don't ask me why. But that's what I want to watch on Wednesday nights now.

Oh yeah, went to LA this past weekend. Had a great time playing with Eric, the cutest baby ON THE PLANET! Also had fun hanging out with siblings, and seeing some old friends. Maybe I should move to LA when I graduate.... hm. But maybe not.
