Random thoughts....

Prop H8 SUCKS.
I completely disagree with Prop.8, and disagree with the SupremeCourt's decision in Strauss. I am extremely troubled by the idea espoused by proponents of the change to the constitution defining "marriage" as between opposite sex couples that gay couples still have all the same rights, just not the title of being "married." It smacks of "separatebutequal," which is just not equal, no matter how you phrase it. Also, it seems to me that it's a matter of semantics- gay people can have all the same rights and privileges associated with marriage and can attach the same meaning behind the institution of marriage, they just should not be able to use the word marriage. I think the meaning of marriage is being cheapened by reducing it to a special title that only the straights can use.
All in all, I read the decision this morning, and I think it's a wishy washy pile of ddong.

StarTrek is dope
I've watched StarTrek three times. The first two times because I wanted to, the last time because I figured why not. It was awesome each time. The cast is all fantastic, the effects were fantastic, and it was just a fun fun movie to watch. Spock, Kirk, Sulu and Bones were all hunky as well.

Summer movies!
I still want to watch Terminator and Wolverine, and am looking forward to Up, HarryPotter, Transformers and various other films.

Alaska!!
I'm going to Alaska in two and half weeks with my parents, sister, brother and sister in law. It promises to be a good time for all. We're going on a cruise ship and stopping at various Alaskan locations. My plan is to eat, sleep, read, eat, read, take pictures, and hang out with the fam. Going on trips with the parents can be stressful, but hopefully mom will be so overjoyed that she's with her kids that she'll be totally chill? Probably not, but I'm still ancicipating smooth sailing all around (no pun intended). We're going for mom and dad's 60th birthdays, so the goal is to make the trip all about them, and give them the greatest time. I heart my parents :)

Music
Really like the DeathCab album, and the NickandNorah'sInfinite Playlist soundtrack. The JasonMraz is okay- all the songs kind of sound the same to me. I want to buy the GreenDay album, and can't wait for the new Wilco album. I'm also going to see Wilco in June at the GreekTheater in Berkeley. Woo!
