Yay Thanksgiving. I had a pretty good time this weekend, ate a lot and spent time in my second home. Hyun, Brian, JooYoung and baby MinHyuk came up on Thursday, along with Phil and Jo. We spent the day eating, hanging out, and gushing over baby MinHyuk. Friday I went to the library. Saturday I went to the library, and then ate a delicious dinner with some extended family. Sunday I went to the library.

Finals are rapidly approaching. First one is next Wednesday. Crap. This semester I have three finals, which is doable, and a 30-40 page paper, which is going to freakin' kick my ass up and down the street. I can feel the pain already.

My ear is bugging me. It kind of hurts. Not the stabbing me in the ear with a pencil hurt of an ear infection, but a vague constant annoying little pain. If this develops into a full blown ear infection I will be unhappy. I went to the clinic today and they said no infection, just fluid behind the ear. The doctor was concerned though about the strange whooshing sounds in my ear that are a continual presence in my life. I might get sent to an ear nose throat doctor. Awesome. Seriously, what the heck is wrong with me? First vertigo, then ear infection, then weird whooshing noises.

Whine whine whine. Right now I'm sick of myself and this pity party I'm throwing.

Nevada town passes English-only law

Wed Nov 15, 5:51 PM ET

PAHRUMP, Nev. - A town board in southern Nevada has adopted an ordinance declaring English the official language, restricting the display of foreign flags and denying town benefits to illegal immigrants.

A 3-2 Town Board vote drew a standing ovation and cheers late Tuesday from many of the 250 people at the meeting.

Town Manager David Richards called the ordinance a statement that "everyone should speak English, and if you are going to move here then you ought to respect the American flag and fly it in prominence."

Lee Rowland, an American Civil Liberties Union staff lawyer from Las Vegas, told the board the ordinance would invite an expensive lawsuit challenging its constitutionally.

"If you pass an ordinance that is blatantly in violation of the First Amendment, this town will be on the hook," Rowland said.

Many said not much will change with the ordinance's adoption.

Town business is already conducted in English and the town has no real "benefits" to take away because public aid is administered by the state or the county, officials said. The flag measure requires an American flag to be displayed at least as prominently as a foreign flag.

Pahrump, with 33,241 residents, is 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

FYI-- Pahrump,NV is the name of the small hick town that Tom got arrested in on Studio60. The town judge hated liberals and TV executives. Maybe Sorkin should have had him hating immigrants too.

Irrational Fears Exposed!!

I hate dots. Especially dots in nature. Patterns of small round objects found in nature. Biggest gross out: SPORES ON THE BACK OF FERNS!!!!! I think that started my utter disgust. When I see that, I get goosebumps and want to throw up.

This irrational fear/dislike also translates to other areas. For instance, the cover of JamesFrey's book "A Million Little Pieces" or whatever it's called, has a hand covered in colorful round little thingies. I find it to be repulsive.

Most of my friends think I'm crazy. They mock my fears. But man, I really, really hate dots found in nature.

Here's a picture I took of a prime example:

You see those little dots?? GROSS. GROSS.

Yep. I'm a weirdo.

StephenColbert on what's going to happen when the Dems are running the country:

“Tomorrow, you’re all going to wake up in a brave new world, where the constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones created in a stem-cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags, where tax-and-spend Democrats take all your hard-earned money and use it to buy electric cars for National Public Radio and teach evolution to illegal immigrants. And everybody’s high!”

Electric cars for NPR! Haahha. OH man. Funny.

Happy day, happy day!

For a poli sci nerd like me, last night was incredibly fun. Watching returns, reading articles, speculating on who will or won't win. I love elections.

It was also a good day for me as a citizen-- California mainly did what I wanted (Arnold? Again? Seriously?) and the way the nation swung also made me very very happy.

Now... all eyes on Virginia.

Hey.

VOTE!!

I love election day. I love voting. There's something about thinking about the issues, weighing the candidates, trying to figure out the touchscreen, and casting your vote. Voting is exciting. I am such a geek.

That being said, I waited in line for half an hour to cast my vote this morning. So that kind of sucked.

Also, I made a list of guidelines for my family, telling them what propositions to vote yes/no for. So really, I want people to vote, but only if they vote for what I want them to vote for.

Just kidding. Go vote.
