Fun times! It's been an interesting couple of days, and I've been able to spend time with some cool folks. Thursday I walked up north and watched Team Victory lose to the Amazon woman team. It was a great game. I always envy those with athletic ability and coordination, two things I completely lack. Ate at Sargeant-- I think the first time this year. Yo, I really dig the ice cream toppings there. Good stuff man. I spent most of the night chilling with Jeremy, one of my favorite brothers out there. After prayer meeting, I came home and fed Jeremy and Art. Hooray! Friday was also fun-- DZ formal! Too bad I didn't go! hahah. I worked on Julie and Meaghan's hair.... can I just tell you, I had sooo much hair spray all over my hands, and I must have inhaled a crazy amount of it. It was fun seeing all my girls all dressed up and pretty.

Oh yeah. CONGRATULATIONS Katie Hill!!! My favorite North Dakotan got engaged on Friday to longtime boyfriend Kevin. yay yay!

Back to Friday. Friday night Christine gave her testimony at Focus. It was amazing. I felt so blessed that I could hear it, and that I'm friends with such an amazing, incredible, strong, happening woman. Thank God for granting me friends who I love, admire and respect so much. And who are cool : )

It's been a long day. I'm tiiiiired. And I'm kind of bitter. Why, you ask? Because today it was 50 degrees, with cold, gusty winds! I mean cmon! Illinois is WACK. How on earth can it be so cold on May 31st!!!! I truly believe it should be a good 20 degrees warmer at this point. But I guess I should look on the bright side of things-- at least it's not 100 degrees and humid!

Wow. It's been a long long time since I've blogged. Baaaaad me. It's just that I've been soo busy! Hhahahahahaha. Actually, I haven't been busy at all. I think I just forgot all about this. I'll be better. After all, I'm sure everyone wants to know about my fabulously exciting last couple weeks of school!

So graduation is in about three weeks. Craaaazy. Seriously, this year's gone by so fast. I've had a really great time at Northwestern, I've met some amazing people, and have really awesome memories. I'm really ready to graduate, but I'm still sad. I just wish I know what post-college life is going to be like. I wish I had a job!!

Last weekend was Dillo Day. Our last Dillo Day, and it was bright and sunny. Hooray! I kept it pretty low key. Hung out a little with a bunch of different people, went up to Lambda Chi, hung out for Ankur for a large portion of the day, watched Blackalicious with my sister, and finished off the evening with McGonegle and Jarva. Good times. It was pretty crazy. Walking around campus and the whole Sherman/Orrington area, there were tons of people walking around, hanging out, having house parties. I ran into a bunch of people I hadn't seen in forever. In the frat quads, tons of people were outside BBQing, talking, playing frisbee... it was a very not Northwestern atmosphere. It was Northwestern in an alternate dimension. Doo doo doo dooooo...

Lately, I've been doing a whoooole lotta nothing. For instance, on Monday I woke up late, went to the lakefill and hung out, watched a bunch of the trading spaces marathon, watched X-Men 2, and then watched some more trading spaces. Last night after getting home from small group, I watched some of the Bachelor- After the Final Rose, then started Fast and the Furious with Amy (horrible, horrible, movie by the way). You starting to get the picture here? I really don't have much to do. Ah well. At least I have no midterms and finals!
So here's the list of things I need to do before graduation:
-go to Lincoln Park Zoo
-go to Shedd Aquarium
-go to Grant Park/Buckingham Fountain
-hang out with my senior girls
-Green Mill
ummm.... I know there's more... I just can't remember it.

I just want to say CLAY WAS ROBBED!! I really wanted him to win American Idol. Reuben was good, but Clay was so much better. Soooo much better. Really, America. I am very disappointed.

Back at school! Holllllaaaaa!

Friday night, I got into bed at 1:30, and tossed and turned all night. Don't think I slept more than two hours. Got up at 5:30, left for the airport at 6, boarded at 7:30 AM. I would have slept on the plane, except that I watched the in flight movie "Two Weeks Notice" (so cute!!) and the people next to me were talking to each other. For the entire flight. Didn't shut up once. Landed at 1:40... an hour earlier than I thought. Oooops. Guess I should read those iteneraries. Pat, Jumee, Lillian and June picked me up, and we had mad area group lovin all day. Went to Woodfield Mall, Yu's Mandarin, and then Willow Creek Church. Fun times. June Kim! HAHAH!

Bill Hybels spoke at Willow Creek. I don't know if you've ever read his books, but they're really good. The man is not only blessed as a writer, but as a speaker as well. His sermon was amazing. I think all of us came out of it really amazed, and really challenged. He really made me think about my character, my faith and my relationship with Jesus. The service was pretty cool, but the sermon really kicked me in the ass. It was great.

So in high school, Susan and I had this thing called "the perfect day." On certain days, we'd look around and say, "if it was ten degrees warmer, it would be the perfect day," or "if it was five degrees cooler, and there was a slight breeze, it would be the perfect day." The perfect day is all about the weather--- about 75-80 degrees, light breeze, bright blue sky. Last week in California, Tuesday was almost a perfect day. I get back to Chicago, and the perfect day is NOWHERE in sight. It is grey and yucky here. Yesterday was cold. I mean, cmon. It's May! We had an absurdly cold winter! Don't we deserve some perfect days? Alas, I guess this is character building. Watch, we're probably going to jump straight from cold and grey to humid and stiflingly hot. There's Chicago for ya! Oh man, I am going to miss this place. Sigh.

Going to watch Ana Gastayer tonight. Hooray!

Okay, so I'm leaving for the aiport in about 5 hours. That sucks. I reaaaalllly don't want to go back to school. I reeeeeallllly want to stay here and play. But alas, plane tickets have been bought, plans have been made, and Hannah must leave.

This has been a really fun week. Especially in terms of TV watching. I love season finales! Girlmore Girls was great this week, and I'm soooo excited for the season finale. I'm also really stoked about the series finale of Buffy. Okay, I really need to stop watching so much TV. But I just can't help myself. The sad thing is, I missed West Wing! ANDREW KIM!! GRR! And I missed Friends and Will and Grace. Oh well. I'll live.

And who's going to win American Idol??? AAHH! I've become obsessed with American Idol this week. First of all, I am in love with Clay. He just has the most beauitful voice. I found this website ( I know, I'm the hugest dork on the planet!) www.claytonaiken.com and it has all the clips of him singing, and he's just so damn good. I want him to win. He seems nice and intelligent and caring. Reuben sings really well, and is sweet and all, but really, is it just me or does he seem kind of dim? I'll be voting for Clay on Tuesday night. You should too.

On to more important things.... DAWSON'S CREEK!!! I finally watched it tonight! AHH! First of all, did Jenn really have to die? I mean, cmon. Happy endings are good! Jenn dying was sad and melancholy and sweet.... but not really necessary! Also, Sheriff Dougie is gay? What? It was just a little too weird for me. I guess Pacey's been predicting that for years.
DAWSON. PACEY. JOEY. I'm a huge Pacey/Joey fan. HUGE. HOORAY!!!! They're so meant to be together. They just have that certain spark, that certain energy when they're together. They challenge each other! It's not all gooey and soul matey and whatever. They're just good for each other. Pacey and Dawson can be soul mates and whatever, but Pacey and Joey just work together as a couple so much better. My favorite season of Dawson's was when Pacey and Joey got together, cause they were just so good and fun as a couple. So hooray. I agree with Jess Ko! The ending made me soooo happy. Sigh. Good times. It's the end of an era.

Wow, this entire blog was television based. Ah well. Oh-- If you ever go to Sushi O Sushi on El Camino in Santa Clara, get the Lion King roll. Wow. damn good.

Goodbye California!

I'm still home! I'm still having fun! I've had a great couple days. Sunday was Mother's Day-- I love my momma! Me and Phil got mommy a picture frame and took her out to dinner. Good times. Yesterday was also great. Except for the whole part where I went to the dentist and they tortured me. Note to self: never ever get another cavity. OWWWWW. After the novocaine wore off and I could feel my face again, all was good. I layed on the grass l afternoon and read Harry Potter and soaked up some sun. It was wonderful. The weather out here has been wonderful-- not too hot, warm, sunny, gorgeous. LOVE IT. Then I hung out with Phil and ran some errands with him.

Speaking of Phil, today is his 25th birthday! Happy birthday Philip Minsoo Yu! My big brother is a really cool guy. We fight, we bicker, but we make each other laugh. A lot. I think my siblings have the ability to make me laugh more than anyone else I know. And this has been going on for 20 something years! So, thanks for making me laugh Phil. Hooray for quarter centuries!

Also, happy birthday to David Han! I've known this guy my whole life. He's a cool, crazy, weird, upstanding, quality guy.

Senior week tickets went on sale! Crazy! One step closer to gradumatation. I think I'm going to buy tickets for the formal and for Great America. And maybe the Architecture cruise. Another crazy thing is that most of my friends from high school who go to semesters are graduating this weekend!! Craaaazy! Congratuations to them.

Sup yo! Hooray for California! I'm hoooome. Haven't been doing much. Yesterday, I went to the eye doctor, the internal medicine doctor and the dentist. I have to go back to the dentist next week cause I have a cavity booooooo. Must floss more. And then I stayed home and bummed around all night. Good times. I spent the entire day today at church, making corsages for the momma's of our church for mother's day. It took FOREVER. But for mommas, it's all worth it.

Things that I'm going to do/want to do this week:
- hang out with mommy
- go to a giants game
- watch Matrix: Reloaded!
ummmm.... yea, that's about it. If anything else comes up, I'll do that too.

I NEED A JOOOOOBBB!!!

Thursday, May 08, 2003

Hellooo! I'm home! Yes, that's right, I'm in Sunnyvale, CA, chilin' in my sub-zero degree house, fighting with the keyboard on this stupid computer, eating my mom's awesome food. Yay! I'm going to spend the next week and a half eating, sleeping, and being a bum. What I do at school, at home, with better food.

Yo, did you watch West Wing last night? It was awesome. SOO good. Graduation, Toby's having some babies, does Donna love Josh?, and Zoe gets kidnapped. Oh man. What a crazy ending. What a great show. Dude, I love the season finale time of the year. Leaves me with some heart problems because of all the cliffhangers, but overall, some goood television.

Dude. I need to go and put some socks on. Seriously, my house is fifteen degrees colder than it is outside.

Sunday, May 04, 2003

OH MAN. SOOOOO tired. Last night a bunch of awesome senior girls went downtown and danced the night away. Good times. But I just don't have the stamina I used to! I'm worn out! I think I need a nap.

This has been a hard week. Really draining. I've been very lonely and sedentary. I think I need to get out of my room and get out some more. This weekend was a good start, but it must continue through the week. Please keep me accountable-- make me go out and play!

Still no job. Things are looking bleak. I'm contemplating a life as a Chipotle burrito maker. Free burritos! Hooray!
