This weekend one of my childhood dreams was fulfilled.
I went to Disneyworld.
Now, I've gone to Disneyland many many times, but this was my first to the World O'Disney. And I was not disappointed. It may be the Evil Empire, but they are a freakin' awesome Evil Empire. I was so impressed by the scope, the attention to detail, the size. I'm still wondering how many people Disneyworld employs.
Anyways, I had a great time with my girlfriends, although we were seriously missing our LA/Phillipines representation. Props to CByun, who hooked her sisters up with some mad discounts. Hell yeah Disney/ABC.
Recap: Got in Friday, hung out by the pool with Em and Byun and tried to get some color, then met up with Grace. Ate dinner at Epcot at the very same restaurant the Tanner Family ate at when they were at Disneyworld (it was momentous), and then walked around the countries at Epcot. Byun and I now have our Canadian, British and French accents mastered. Sorta. Also caught the very weird Epcot fireworks show. It involved a lot of lights and a big floating globe. Or something. Took the boat to Pleasure Island and had fruit and mojitos at Bongo's. All in all- a great day!
Saturday spent all morning and afternoon at the Magic Kingdom! The weather was great-- hot, but bearable, and not too humid. We took a lot of goofy pictures, and got through the park by mid afternoon. Magic Kingdom is great, but it's no Disneyland. No Matterhorn, no Indiana Jones. And the rides are all... different. But I'm a little prejudiced. Anyway, I fulfilled another one of my dreams there by buying Mickey Mouse ears with my name embroidered on it!!! Hell yeah. We then headed to Epcot again where in particular we rode the Mission to Mars ride. Which made us all feel nauseous. Then we went again to the countries and visited Mexico, Norway, China, and Germany. Unfortunately, those accents were harder to master. Took to boat again to Pleasure Island, and had wine and seafood at some seafood place. Another great day.
Sunday we had brucnh at the Polynesian resort and ate awesome french toast and awesome Kona coffee. Then we took pictures. I took a lot of this duck and her eleven little ducklings. It was cute. After brunch we headed back to the hotel, and then the airport. Our weekend was over, but it was a freakin' awesome one. Laughed a lot, walked a lot, took a whole lotta pictures.
I can't help it. I love Disney.
And I love my friends.
