Treebeard Sighting This morning I was walking down I Street, and while I was waiting on the corner of I and 16th, I was held up by a small police motorcade. As the motorcade is passing by I'm thinking, I wonder who it is, maybe it's a Congress thing, or a Cabinet member or dignitary. Then I see through one of the windows that the motorcade is carrying none other than Senator John Kerry, or Treebeard! I thought it was very cool. If I had reacted a little faster, I would have waved furiuosly and tried to make a fool of myself.
James Carville and John Kerry in one week. Living in DC is awesome for political nerds like me :)

West Wing season finale was good. A little confusing and melodramatic, but the acting, of course, was excellent. Man, President Bartlett should have listened to Leo. Cause now he's gonna get his ass kicked by everybody. Also, Law and Order season finale was good, but SAD, cause I heart Lenny. No one can deliver a wry one-liner like Jerry Orbach. The show's just not gonna be the same without him. But it's okay, cause you know you can catch 6 million L&O reruns a day on cable.

By the way-- did yo know that Jerry Orbach was the voice of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast? It's true. Lenny=Lumiere. I think it would have been awesome if they had an episode with Det. Briscoe and Det. Green having to sing for something (Jesse L. Martin was in the original cast of Rent as Tom Collins, so he too can siiiing.) Speaking of ass-kicking singers, I think it would be awesome if they had Jack Bristow singing. Maybe he could go undercover and have to sing somewhere, like Sydney did in Season 1. Did you know that Victor Garber has won a bunch of Tony's, and has been in musicals like Annie, Godspell, Damn Yankees, Assassins, etc? Yep, he's the guy with the big fro in Godspell. I think he played Jesus. Lesson of the day: real men can sing. And be just as comfortable playing spies and detectives as candlesticks and messiahs.

Going to see Jars of Clay tomorrow night! Hooooray! It will be, if I remember correctly, my tenth time seeing them live. Now I just need to find someone to go with. Anyone reading this in the DC area want to come with me to Jars of Clay? Anyone? Anyone?
